Things to Consider When Living Off of the Grid

There are several things to consider when living off of the grid, the first being whether you are ready to do some of the work to have your own electricity, water, and heat. Living off the grid may sound romantic, and feel like the responsible Earth Friendly thing to do, but unless you are willing to spend a few hours each month on basic maintenance and ''tune-ups,'' then staying on the grid may be the better option. That said, the rewards of being energy independent, being part of the solution and not part of the problem, more than make up for any work put into this endeavor.
